Mission Statement

Strengthening the economic base of women and youths by removing any economic or social impediments through: sensitization Programmes and vocational training, skills development to engage freely in economic ventures that can boost their capital base for self sustainability.

OUR ACTIVITIES

-Sensitize women and adolescent girls on the need to rise to their economic responsibilities at diferent levels.

-Develop the skills of women engaged in economic activities for more output.

-Grant assistance to vulnerable and physically challenged women to enhance their economic capacity.

-Home base care to vulnerable women.

OUR MOST ENDURING RESULT:

Trainees from our training programs especially that of TYDF/WEEI skills acquisition programmes, the IDPs trained and the IT students trained are now computing favourably in their chosen craft and businesses. Our products; bead products and Ankara bags, Vaseline and Morinaga soap products etc have been accepted globally. Our trainees have grown to status of training women and Youth in a worldwide program.

OUR MOST DEBILITATING CONSTRAINTS

Finance and training equipment has been our major debilitating constraints. This is because a lot of States and communities are yet to be covered because of financial limitations. Giving start up equipment for trainees, hiring of equipment for training, and payment of resources personnel for programmes all hinged on finance. Our facilities are limited compared to the number of women/youth who want to be trained in order to make a maximum impact in the society.

WHAT WE DO

We have a mission of strengthening the economic base of women, youth and adolescent girls by removing any economic or social constraints through; - Sensitization programmes on Peaceful coexistence, HIV/AIDS, Child labour and drug abuse. - planning and execution of literacy programmes for women and school drop out girls - Vocational trainings for women, youth and under privileged. - Skills and capacity development for women and youth engaged in economic activities and hand craft. We also provide financial support to orphans and displaced persons for their education whenever funds are available as well as provide home based care for the vulnerable and physically challenged women. .

FUNDING

The NGO is funded majorly by the Members of the Board of Trustee, Donor agencies where available and the Coordinator with donations from other well spirited individuals and organizations.

WHERE WE OPERATE

WEEI has a National confine but currently only operates in the North East with presence in five(5) states due to financial constraints. We are present in Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, Gombe and Bauchi. The head office is currently in Taraba State, No. Block J9-10, MIYAPET PLAZA, 130 Hammaruwa way, Jalingo.
